Bounced 9 startups, lost money, but made it to become a pre IPO investor - Shoba Viswanath, Indian American Investor

Shoba Viswanath is a Femigrants from India. As a child immigrant from India, she was raised in the US, being the product of two cultures, both Indian and American.

 

Since her childhood, she dreamed of being a doctor and convinced her parents about it.

She got accepted into Medical school, but then realized that it wasn't for her.

 

She bounced 9 startups, became an angel investor, lost money but MADE her way to become a pre-IPO investor.

 

She has a hardcore life science and medicine background; She decided to dive into technology more than 15 years ago.  

 

She is technology agnostic and has worked in current and emerging technology areas and domains. These range from SAAS for healthcare and biopharma products to technology for transportation and fintech. 

 

Through affiliations with leading accelerators like Plug & Play and Alchemist and a couple of consulting companies, Viswanath Consulting, LLC, and Appleton & Greene, she provides advisory services on raising money and growing companies.  In recent years, she has become more familiar with the use of AI across industries and the defining moment for technology to accept AI.

 

She is also an active angel investor who has invested through numerous syndicates and an investment bank called Laidlaw.
